you can hear the poetry of disobedience humming through the drawings and riso prints of visual artist Lise Duclaux. Duclaux's work weaves the story of bee and flower and their intricate dance of fertilisation, their sleep and search for food. What is striking is the way the artist captures bees and flowers in their autonomy from and resistance to the scientific yardstick of utility and categorisation. An expo that reads like a challenge to man 'as the measure of all things'.

Duclaux’ werk weeft het verhaal van bij en bloem en hun ingewikkelde dans van bevruchting, hun slaap en zoektocht naar voedsel. Wat opvalt is de manier waarop de kunstenaar bijen en bloemen vat in hun autonomie ten aanzien van en verzet tegen de wetenschappelijke maatstaf van nut en categorisering. Een expo die voor de mens ‘als maat van alle dingen’ leest als een uitdaging.
